DUP Launches Election Manifesto

The DUP has launched its election manifesto.

Party leader Arlene Foster said there was a "very real prospect" that Sinn Fein could emerge as the largest party in Northern Ireland, as she referred to a LucidTalk poll which found that the two parties were "neck-and-neck".

She also said the party would prioritise spending on the health service; create more jobs and increase incomes; protect family budgets; raise standards in education for all and invest in infrastructure.

Mrs Foster said the election on 02 March is the "most important in a generation".

However, the media were unable to ask Mrs Foster questions after the launch because she said she had "man-flu".

She did not refer to the RHI scandal during her manifesto speech.
