Armed Men Target Two Takeaways In West Belfast

Police are appealing for information after armed men targeted two takeaways in west Belfast on Monday night, 20 February.

A man armed with a knife entered a takeaway on the Shankill Road at around 11.15pm.

He threatened a staff member while another man waited outside.

They both made off empty handed.

One of the men was wearing a grey jacket and had his face covered with a scarf.

Just before 11.45pm, two men entered another takeaway in the area and threatened employees. They made off with a sum of cash.

Police said they are investigating a possible link between the two incidents and are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Two Arrested Over Co Antrim Armed Robbery
Police investigating the armed robbery of a shop in Armoy, Co Antrim, on Saturday night have arrested two men. It is understood that two men armed with a gun and a knife threatened staff at a shop on Coolkeeran Road at about 19:00 on Saturday. The men made off with a quantity of cash and cigarettes. No-one was injured in the incident.

Man Beaten With Baseball Bats In West Belfast
A man has been injured after being beaten with baseball bats during an aggravated burglary in west Belfast. Three men entered the victim's house in the Downfine Walk area at around 8.30pm on Wednesday, 04 July. They assaulted the 26-year-old man and it is believed they made off on foot.

Man Armed With Screwdriver Threatens Staff In South Belfast
A man armed with a screwdriver has threatened staff at premises in south Belfast, according to the police. The suspect entered the shop on the Dublin Road at around 10.15am on Sunday, 02 May. He threatened staff and made off with a sum of cash. However, the man believed to have been involved in the incident, was detained by members of the public.

Staff Left Badly Shaken After Armed Robbery In Co Antrim
Workers at a shop in Co Antrim have been left shaken after three masked men entered the premises in an armed robbery. Three masked men, believed to be arraying suspected firearms, entered the shop on the Harbour Road in Carnlough, and threatened staff members just before 11pm on Thursday, 06 July.
