M1 Collision Causes Traffic Delays In Belfast

A crash on the M1, which occurred at about 8am this morning and closed two lanes, has now been cleared.

The collision happened on the inside lane of the M1 between Stockmans Lane and Broadway.

There have been no reports of any injuries.

Two lanes of the motorway were closed and caused significant traffic delays across the city. Police have said that while the collision has been cleared, ongoing delays are expected.

Pedestrian Dies Following Road Traffic Collision Ikn West Belfast
A female pedestrian in her 70s has tragically died following a road traffic collision in west Belfast on Saturday, 9th November. The incident occurred on Hannahstown Hill shortly after 6:50pm when two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle. Emergency services attended the scene, and the injured pedestrians were taken to hospital.

Pedestrian Dies On M1 After Collision
A pedestrian has died after a collision with a lorry on the M1. The incident happened on the motorway near the Lurgan junction at around 5pm on Wednesday, 01 August. Police confirmed the pedestrian was a man. The westbound and eastbound lanes were closed however they have since been reopened.

Belfast Residents Call For Cycle-Friendly Infrastructure
Belfast residents want more measures to promote cycling in the city, the latest Bike Like report has revealed. Some 77% of residents say they would cycle more if the city's infrastructure provided more bike lanes that are separated from traffic and pedestrians. Just two miles of protected cycling space currently exists in Belfast.

BIA Apologise For Delays Caused By Closed Security Lanes
An investigation is underway to establish why just one security lane was opened at Belfast international Airport on Thursday night, causing some passengers to miss their flights. It is understood long delays were caused after just one lane was operating at the airport's security gate between 18:00 and 20:00.
