Investigation Launched Following Attempted Robbery In Belfast

Police have launched an investigation after employees at a takeaway restaurant in Belfast were threatened with a hammer.

The incident happened at premises on the Shankill Road shortly after 11pm on Tuesday, 07 March.

A number of masked men armed with a hammer threatened staff and demanded them to open the till.

The workers refused to open it and the robbers fled the scene empty handed.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Police Appeal After Man Robs Shop In Belfast
An armed man robbed a shop in Belfast on Sunday morning. The man, armed with a hammer, threatened staff at the premises on the Belmont Road and demanded money shortly after 9.30am. He made off with a sum of cash. The man, believed to be around 20 years old, is described as 5’ 10” tall and he was wearing a black tracksuit and a black cap.

Two Arrested Over Co Antrim Armed Robbery
Police investigating the armed robbery of a shop in Armoy, Co Antrim, on Saturday night have arrested two men. It is understood that two men armed with a gun and a knife threatened staff at a shop on Coolkeeran Road at about 19:00 on Saturday. The men made off with a quantity of cash and cigarettes. No-one was injured in the incident.

Man To Appear In Court Charged With Robbery In North Belfast
A man is to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court today, 19 April, charged with a robbery at an off-licence in north Belfast. The incident happened at premises on the Crumlin Road at around 7.35pm on Sunday. The man, armed with a knife, threatened staff and made off with a quantity of cigarettes and alcohol.

Man Armed With Screwdriver Threatens Staff In South Belfast
A man armed with a screwdriver has threatened staff at premises in south Belfast, according to the police. The suspect entered the shop on the Dublin Road at around 10.15am on Sunday, 02 May. He threatened staff and made off with a sum of cash. However, the man believed to have been involved in the incident, was detained by members of the public.
