Ulster Bank To Close Nine Branches In NI
Ulster Bank has announced it is to close nine of its branches in Northern Ireland.
The banks closing are:
• Monkstown
• Belfast, Boucher Road
• Belfast, Antrim Road
• Belfast, Woodstock Road
• Bangor, Main Street
• Newtownbreda
• Kircubbin
• Millennium Forum
• Garvagh
The bank said more customers are using online banking facilities.
Sean Murphy, Managing Director, Personal Banking, Ulster Bank in Northern Ireland said: "Closing a branch is never an easy decision and one we do not take lightly.
"Recognising that customers expect different services from their bank, we continue to invest in a range of channels to improve access in a sustainable way, such as our Bank on Wheels, 24/7 telephone banking and our services available through the Post Office.
"Ulster Bank still retains Northern Ireland's largest bank branch network and its only Bank on Wheels service, as well providing ongoing education for customers in how to make best use of these services.
"We will also be introducing additional digital and community support roles to assist with this transition."

Ulster Bank Payments Delayed Further
A bank that has been plagued with technical difficulties over the past few days has said its payments system will not be fully up and running until Monday. Although Ulster Bank said the days-long backlog would be resolved today, many customers are still unable to access recent payments.

First Trust To Close 15 Branches In NI
Over 100 jobs are at risk after First Trust Bank confirmed it is to close 15 branches in Northern Ireland. First Trust, which is owned by AIB in Dublin, said the closures had been a "difficult decision". Head of First Trust Bank, Des Moore, said the bank has seen a 40% decline in branch usage since 2010.

Northern Bank Becomes Danske
Today the Northern Bank officially becomes Danske Bank. The new name comes from the bank’s Danish parent and will see branches across Ireland, Norway, Finland, Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania adopt the new title.
