Five people in court over drugs find
Five people appeared before Newry magistrates court today following the seizure of £250,000 worth of cannabis resin in Banbridge on Saturday.
Warren and Maxine Crowley, Neil Doody and Christopher Turner were charged with possessing cannabis with intent to supply, while a fifth person, Thomas Milligan was charged with possessing 4,500 diazepam tablets.
The drugs were discovered by drugs squad officers and uniformed police in a vehicle in the town during a proactive police operation.
All five were refused bail and were remanded in custody until 18 December.

A Newtownabbey man has been handed a custodial sentence for a series of drugs offences following police raids as part of a paramilitary probe. 49-year-old William Axon will serve two years imprisonment, half in custody and half on licence.

'A' Level School Leavers Increase 5%
The number of pupils in Northern Ireland achieving two or more 'A' levels or equivalent increased by 4.9% during the five years to 2012/13, according to the Department of Education. The proportion of school leavers achieving two or more 'A' levels or equivalent was 55.1%, up from from 50.2% in 2008/09.

Two Dublin residents are among the five men charged with having cannabis worth £700,000 at east Belfast's Ikea store. Lester Keating, 40, of Cornduff Road, Blanchardstown and Paul Bennett, 21, from Ashwood Drive, Clondalkin, appeared in court in Belfast today.

Four Charged With Drugs Offences
Four people have been charged with class A drugs offences following arrests made on Friday (30 August). Two men, aged 54 and 20, and a 42-year-old woman who are all from Liverpool, and a 35-year-old man from Antrim have been charged with the possession of Class A drugs and possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.
