Teen Arrested After Officer Dragged Along Road By Car

A police officer has been injured after he was dragged along a road by a car during an incident in Newtownstewart, Co Tyrone.

It happened in the Mourne Park area just before 11pm on Tuesday, 02 May.

Police were speaking to the driver of the Honda car when he drove off. An officer was dragged along the road before being thrown off the vehicle.

He sustained cuts and bruises to his head and body.

the car was stopped a short time later in the Old Castle Road area.

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of a number of motoring offences and has been detained by the PSNI.

Police Investigate Shooting Incident In L'Derry
Detectives are appealing for information after a young man was shot in the Creggan area on Wednesday night, November 27th. Shortly after 10:10 PM, police received a report that the man, in his late teens, had been shot in the leg. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
