Investigation Launched After Man Assaulted In Belfast

Police have launched an investigation after a man was attacked by a gang in Belfast.

The assault occurred in the Roden Street area at around 11.30pm on Wednesday, 03 May.

The 23-year-old victim was walking along the street towards Roden Pass with two other people and a black BMW pulled up beside them.

Five men in the car got out and two of them attacked the man with what is believed to be a knife and a bat.

All of the suspects were wearing dark clothing and black masks.

The other two people were not assaulted, however they were left very badly shaken.

The victim's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Man Killed In Westlink Collision Named
The man who died in a road crash on the Westlink in Belfast on Wednesday, 25 January, has been named. He was 69-year-old Victor Shaw from north Belfast. The single-vehicle collision happened near Roden Street shortly before 3pm. Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Armagh man believed to have been "assaulted"
Police in County Armagh are appealing for witnesses following the discovery of a man suffering from head injuries yesterday morning. At around 9am, a member of the public found the man lying at the side of the road in the Dobbin Street Lane area of Armagh. The man was taken to hospital where he received treatment for injuries to his head.

Man Charged After Glenarm Shooting
Detectives investigating the incident on Feystown Road on Monday, 25 November, have charged a 41-year-old man with attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, and criminal damage. The accused is due to appear at Ballymena Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday, 28 November.
