Four Victims Of Human Trafficking Rescued In Belfast And Banbridge
Four female victims of human trafficking have been rescued by police in Belfast and Banbridge.
Two men were arrested following operations in east Belfast and Banbridge on Thursday, 25 May.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Bell said: "The two men aged 20 and 28 were arrested on suspicion of human trafficking for sexual exploitation, controlling prostitution and money laundering and are currently assisting us with our enquiries. The arrests are part of an extensive investigation into an organised criminal gang with eastern European links. The searches were carried out at properties on the Newtownards Road in east Belfast and at Kenlis Street in Banbridge on Thursday.
"The 20 year old man was arrested in Belfast where one woman was rescued. The other man was detained in Banbridge and three women were rescued from that property."
A further search was conducted in London by the Metropolitan Police, however no further victims were located.

Heavy Snow Closes Over 80 Schools
Over 80 schools across Northern Ireland have been closed as the heavy snow continues to cause disruption on Tuesday morning. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning, as the snow is continuing to affect many roads. Areas which have been majorly disrupted include Lisburn, Castlereagh and Carryduff.

19-Year-Old Dies In Collision In Banbridge
Police have issued an appeal for information following a fatal collision in Banbridge, County Down. A 19-year-old man has died following a single-vehicle crash involving a lorry at Foxleigh Fields. The PSNI are investigating the circumstances of the collision and have issued an appeal for anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact them.
