Man Arrested Over James Gibson Murder Released

A man arrested in connection with the IRA murder of James Gibson has been released.

Mr Gibson, aged 50, was shot by masked men after he stopped to let children off the bus he was driving in Coalisland, Co Tyrone, on 02 December 1982.

A 54-year-old man was arrested on Monday, 05 June, however he has since been released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service (PPS).

Man Released On Bail Over Lurgan Murder
A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Man Charged After Glenarm Shooting
Detectives investigating the incident on Feystown Road on Monday, 25 November, have charged a 41-year-old man with attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, and criminal damage. The accused is due to appear at Ballymena Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday, 28 November.

Man Extradited From Ireland To Face Serious Charges
A 33-year-old man has been extradited from Northern Ireland to the Republic of Ireland to face serious charges. The man is accused of assault causing harm, coercive control, contravention of a safety order, theft, and possession of a weapon. The alleged offences occurred in the Monaghan area between 2020 and 2021.
