Plans Approved For 70 New Homes In Belfast
Planning permission has been approved to develop 70 new homes in Ballysillan, Belfast.
The new semi-detached and townhouse dwellings will be located on lands at Benview Avenue and Benview Park.
Belfast City Council also gave the go-ahead for over 60 homes to be built at Station View in Dunmurry.
Proposals for over 20 apartments to be developed across three blocks on the site of Dundela Football Club's former training ground were also approved.
Elsewhere, 30 more bedrooms are to be added to the new Bullitt hotel in Belfast, after the Council granted permission for the conversion of Annsgate House at the bottom end of Ann Street. The development will also include a new rooftop bar. Amended plans for the conversion of the former War Memorial Building in Waring Street, which will see the number of rooms reduced from the previously approved 63 to 37, were also passed.
The next stage of the Lagan Gateway project also has taken a step closer, with the granting of planning permission for a new boat lock at Stranmillis, to allow the passage of boats past the weir, a new footbridge and path linking Annadale and Stranmillis and new paths to Belvoir Park.
The extension of Elmgrove Primary School, to accommodate its amalgamation with two other nearby schools, also has been approved. The scheme will include two single-storey and one two-storey extensions to the rear of the existing Avoniel Road building, as well as the construction of a new nursery building. When completed, the new school will be home to almost 700 pupils and 112 staff.

Approximately 50 construction jobs are to be created as part of a £50million project to develop 900 new homes in Comber, Co Down. Northern Ireland homebuilders Hagan Homes has started construction work on the first phase of the 'Enler Village' site on the Newtownards Road, which includes the development of 17 new homes.

8,000 New Homes Needed Across Ards Area
NI Water has announced that the Ards and North Down area will need around 8,000 new homes by 2030. The company made the announcement at the Ards and North Down Borough Council meeting, to update representatives on infrastructure plans going forward and the level of investment needed for the Council area.
