Man In Serious Condition After Being Struck By Car In Dunmurry

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being struck by a car in Dunmurry.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was hit by the vehicle at the junction of Glebe Road and Upper Dunmurry Lane at around 1.40am on Saturday, 05 August.

Sergeant Tom Donnelly said the driver of the car, a man in his 60s, was arrested and questioned by police. He has since been released on bail.

Sergeant Donnelly said: "The male pedestrian remains in a serious condition in hospital.

"We are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this collision. Officers can be contacted by calling 101, quoting reference number 114 05/08/17."

Man Kidnapped And Assaulted In Dunmurry
A man, aged in his 30s, has been arrested in connection with a kidnapping in Dunmurry on Saturday, 14 January. It was reported just after 12pm that a man was forced into the back of a blue Citroen Berlingo van by two men in the Upper Dunmurry Lane area before it was driven away from the Michael Ferguson roundabout.

Serious Road Accident In L'Derry
Police are appealing for witnesses of a serious road accident in Maghera, Co L'Derry, on Sunday night. A man in his 20s is in a critical condition in hospital following the two car collision on the Coleraine Road. It is understood a number of people were injured in the collision but none of them seriously.

'Agitated' Man Arrested After Hijacking Car In Dunmurry
A man has been arrested after he stole a car and drove repeatedly through electronic gates of a car park in Dunmurry. The incident happened in the Millfort Mews area at around 11.30am on Thursday, 10 August. The "agitated" man is believed to have demanded car keys from several people on the street before attempting to enter some houses in the area.

Five die on NI roads over the weekend
Five people have died on Northern Ireland's roads over the weekend. In Co Tyrone last night, two people died when a car and a four-wheel-drive collided just outside the village of Augher. A woman passenger in the car is still in critical condition following the accident.
