Pig's Head Left On Doorstep Of Islamic Centre
Police have launched an investigation after a pig's head was left on the doorstep of an Islamic centre in Newtownards, Co Down.
Graffiti was also daubed on a wall of the building and the incidents are being treated as "hate crimes".
The incident was reported to the PSNI at around 11.15pm on Wednesday, 23 August and the graffiti at about 1am on Thursday, 24 August.
Alliance Strangford MLA Kellie Armstrong said she has been left "disgusted".
She said: "It is disgusting there are those who wish to attack a place of worship and in such a sickening manner.
"Those who carry out such hate crimes seek to drive a wedge between people here by heightening racial and religious tension. We must all stand together to condemn and defeat them.
