Security Alert Ends In L'Derry
Residents in L'Derry have returned to their homes after a security alert in the area has now ended.
Police carried out a number of searches in the Oeghill Park area on Wednesday, 30 August, however nothing untoward was found. The alert ended at around midnight.
Inspector Greg Smyth said: "Information was received by police that suggested a device may have been left in the area. To ensure the safety of local residents and those travelling in and around the area it was necessary to carry out a thorough search and clearance operation."

Police have said a security alert in Maghera, Co L'Derry, has ended. They have declared the alert a hoax. A suspicious object was discovered in the Sunnyside Drive area of the town on Friday. Police and army bomb experts attended the scene. The object was later declared a hoax.

West Belfast security alert ends
A security alert in west Belfast has ended. Police have described the device, which was discovered in the Grosvenor Road area of the city as “viable.” A number of items have since been taken from the scene for forensic examination.

Security Alert In L'Derry Ends
A security alert in L'Derry has now ended. A suspicious object was discovered in the Brigade Road area on Thursday afternoon. Residents had to be evacuated from their homes and army bomb experts attended the scene. A controlled explosion was carried out on the object, however nothing harmful was found.

Detectives have renewed an appeal for information following a deliberate arson attack at a vacant property in the Weaver's Grange area of Newtownards. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 17 November, 2023. Police and firefighters were called to the scene at around 12:40am.
