Viable Device Recovered In Belfast Security Alert
Police have recovered a viable device following a security alert in Belfast.
Residents had to be evacuated from their homes and widespread disruption was caused during the alert in North Queen Street on Tuesday, 12 September.
The device has been sent for further examination.
The alert has now ended.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
Sinn Fein councillor JJ Magee condemned the incident.
He said: "A car was attacked in the local area and those responsible had left a suspect device in the car.
"This disruption to the local community is unacceptable.
"Incidents like these need to stop. There is no place for it in our society.
"Those behind these attacks need to end their war with the community.
"Anyone with information should contact the PSNI."

'Viable Pipe Bomb Type Device' In L'Derry Security Alert
Police have declared a security alert in Londonderry was the result of a "viable pipe bomb type device". The alert began with reports of a "loud bang" outside a house in Bann Drive at about 11.15pm on Tuesday, 17 July. It is understood that a man and woman were in the house at the time of the incident but escaped uninjured.

Viable Device Discovered In L'Derry Security Alert
Police have discovered a viable device during a security alert in L'Derry. Army bomb disposal were alerted to the Tamneymore Park area at around 2am on Friday, 31 March, following reports of a suspicious object. The device has been taken away for forensic examination. The alert is ongoing however no roads have been closed.

A controlled explosion has been carried out on a viable incendiary device discovered on the grounds of Ballycastle Police Station, Co Antrim. A second device found has been declared a hoax. They were discovered on the Ramoan Road on Thursday morning. A number of businesses were forced to close during the alert, however they have now reopened.

Viable Device Found In Co Tyrone
A viable device has been found following a security alert near Strabane, County Tyrone. A device was found on Ballyheather Road on Tuesday. The road has now been re-opened between the junctions of the Lisdivin Road and Clogher Road. Police and army bomb experts attended the scene.

'Viable Device' Found In Newtownabbey
A 'viable device' has been found in Newtownabbey in the midst of a security alert. The device was discovered in the Cherrylands/Cloughfern area shortly after 06:00 this morning. The area was cordoned off as army bomb experts examined the device and carried out a controlled explosion.
