SDLP Welcomes Court Judgement Supporting A6 Scheme
The SDLP has welcomed a court judgement supporting the A6 L'Derry to Belfast Road project.
West Tyrone MLA Daniel McCrossan said it is a "critical infrastructure" scheme for the North West.
He said: "Communities here have been waiting for far too long for investment in tired infrastructure which does not meet the needs of the people I represent.
"I'm glad that the court has found in favour of proceeding with the A6.
"It's critical now that work on this vital project is advanced without delay."
Man Convicted Of Benefit Fraud
A man has been convicted for claiming benefits he was not entitled to at Omagh Magistrates' Court.
David Eagleson claimed Job Seeker's Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £6,879 while failing to declare employment. He was given 180 hours Community Service.
He is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department for Communities.
EA Admits Special Educational Needs Transport Travel Times Were Unacceptable
Sinn Féin Education spokesperson Karen Mullan has welcomed an admission from the Education Authority (EA) that special educational needs transport travel times were unacceptable.
The Foyle MLA said: "During a meeting with the Education Authority on Friday we raised our concerns surrounding special educational needs transport times and made it clear that current travel arrangements were unacceptable.
"I welcome the fact that the Education Authority listened to our concerns and acted accordingly.
"No child should be subjected to excessive travel times.
"The Education Authority now need to clarify that no child's health and safety was put at risk as a result of actions taken by the authority and the very serious incidents which occured as a result.
"I would urge any parent whose remains unsatisfied with their child's transport arrangements to contact the authority immediately."
