Political Leaders Meet With Former US President
Former US President Bill Clinton has met with DUP leader Arlene Foster to deliver a new education initiative.
He was due to fly to Belfast on Monday, however it was postponed due to Storm Ophelia.
Mrs Foster said: "I welcome plans to remodel and expand the work of the Clinton Centre. It is a significant boost to Enniskillen in particular and Northern Ireland in general. The collaborative nature of this project is significant.
"It involves working in partnership with the University of Ulster, Dublin City University and Massachusetts University who will deliver a significant academic programme. This model will benefit all involved as well as boost the entire area.
"As part of the future plans for the Clinton Centre, Colin Davidson's work will be exhibited. This will be widely recognised as a tremendous honour and it will enhance the profile of the Centre."
Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams TD and party leader in the north Michelle O'Neill also met with Mr Clinton in Belfast.
Ms O'Neill said: "Gerry Adams and I met with President Clinton in Belfast. We welcomed the plans to revamp the Clinton Centre in Enniskillen and the President's ongoing interest in developments in the peace and political processes.
"We had a wide ranging discussion on a number of issues including the current difficulties facing the political process, efforts to restore the political institutions on the basis of rights and equality and the implications of Brexit."
