Drop In Number Of People Claiming Unemployment Benefits
There has been a drop in the number of people claiming unemployment benefits in Northern Ireland.
According to figures from the Department for the Economy, there are currently 29,300 claimants, a drop of around 500 over the past month.
The Department said there has not been a direct impact on Claimant Count figures as the roll-out of the new Universal Credit began in September.

There has been a drop in the number of people claiming unemployment benefits in Northern Ireland. According to the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA), 500 fewer people were claiming unemployment benefits in November, bring the total to 33,600. The Northern Ireland rate of 5.7% is above the UK average.
