Three Arrested After £160,000 Drugs Seizure In Armagh

Three people have been arrested after police seized drugs worth an estimated street value of £160,000 in Co Armagh.

The PSNI recovered the drugs after searching two properties in the Bessbrook area on Monday, 13 November.

A quantity of cash was also recovered.

Two men, aged 33, and a woman, aged 27, were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences, including possession of Class A and Class B drugs, and possession of criminal property.

Sinn Féin MLA Conor Murphy said: "The seizure of these drugs has potentially saved lives.

"It is essential that the PSNI is effective in removing drugs from our streets and also arresting those believed to be involved in the supply trade.

"Drugs have no place in our communities and we must do whatever we can to eliminate them from our society."

Councillor Roisin Mulgrew said: "I would urge the Police to continue to pursue those who engage in the world of illicit drugs, and ensure they face the full rigours of the law.

"There should be no hiding place for them."
