Sinn Féin To Discuss Political Deadlock At Stormont

Sinn Féin is to meet with the Taoiseach and the Irish Foreign Affairs Minister to discuss the political deadlock at Stormont.

Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams and Northern leader of the party Michelle O'Neill will meet with Leo Varadkar and Simon Coveney in Dublin today, Wednesday, 15 November.

Michelle O'Neill said it is the two governments' responsibility to address the issues of rights.

She said: "The way forward is for the two governments, as co-guarantors of the Good Friday and St Andrews Agreements, to honour outstanding commitments, and to deliver rights enjoyed by everyone else on these islands to citizens in the North.

"They should ensure a meeting of the British-Irish intergovernmental conference takes place as soon as possible to begin mapping a way forward for the implementation of outstanding agreements and guaranteeing the rights of citizens.

"This would pave the way for the Executive to be restored."
