Stephen Herron Named New Director Of Public Prosecutions
Mr Stephen Herron has been named the new Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
He is currently the acting Deputy Director and his appointment will come into effect on 02 January, 2018.
John Larkin QC made the announcement.
Mr Herron said: "I have worked in the service for the last 15 years and it is an honour to have the opportunity to take on this role."
Mr Barra McGrory announced he was stepping down from the role in May.

Man Charged After Glenarm Shooting
Detectives investigating the incident on Feystown Road on Monday, 25 November, have charged a 41-year-old man with attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, and criminal damage. The accused is due to appear at Ballymena Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday, 28 November.
