Storm Eleanor Leaves Thousands Without Power
Thousands of people across Northern Ireland are without power this morning following damage caused overnight by Storm Eleanor.
It is understood that power has already been restored to more than 20,000 homes and work is ongoing to reconnect all homes and businesses affected.
Winds of up to 100mph caused damage to buildings, brought down trees, caused flooding and major travel disruption across NI.
According to Traffic Watch NI, main travel routes are open, but a number of roads across the State are closed due to flooding and debris.

• Newforge Lane-blocked
• Donegal Quay from under the M3 bridge to the corner of Corporation Square- blocked
• Old Holywood Road – blocked
• Fairtree Hill Dundonald – blocked
• Circular Road at junction with Cairnburn Road – partially blocked
• Chippendale Court – blocked
• Hopefield Avenue – blocked
• Knocknagoney Road – partially blocked
Lisburn and Castlereagh
• Glenavy Road – blocked
• Mullaghglass Road – blocked
• Moneybroom Road – blocked
• Tullnacross Road – blocked
• Dagger Road – blocked
• Ballycreen Road – blocked
• Old Road, Lisburn – blocked
• Brook Lodge Ballinderry, - blocked

Local roads get record £80m spend
A record £80 million will be spent on structural roads maintenance this year across Northern Ireland. The figure was revealed by Deputy Divisional Roads Manager, Tom McCourt as he presented DRD Roads Service’s autumn report to Newtownabbey Borough Council. Mr McCourt said: "This is a huge increase in investment over previous years.

Winter Wonderland To Return
As national weather forecasters said that the North and West of the UK would be worst hit by another spell of freezing temperatures - snow showers are expected to return to NI later today. With several centimetres of snow predicted to fall in some places, forecasters said the renewed Arctic blast could last into the middle of next week.

Motorists' winter warning
Motorists were today urged to play their part by driving safely in wintry conditions, as this year’s winter service operation was launched. Every night from November to March a fleet of 140 gritters and drivers will be on standby to salt over 4,300 miles of roads across Northern Ireland in just over three hours catering for 80% of traffic.
