Tommy Bowe To Retire At End Of Season

Ireland and Ulster wing Tommy Bowe is to retire at the end of the season, Ulster Rugby has confirmed.

The 33-year-old from Co Monaghan said he "had some incredible years, but it's time to tell you - it's my last".

He has sustained an number of injuries in recent seasons.

Bowe played in all three Lions Tests against South Africa in 2009, and in two Tests in Australia in 2013.

He scored up 310 points in 163 appearances for Ulster.

Bowe Signs New Ulster Rugby Contract
Tommy Bowe has signed a new contract that will see him stay at Ulster Rugby until June 2018. The IRFU and Ulster made the announcement today. Bowe made his competitive senior debut for Ulster against Connacht in April 2004. Since then, he has made 124 appearances and scored 48 tries for the team.

Tommy Bowe Receives UU Doctorate
Ulster rugby player Tommy Bowe has been presented with an honorary doctorate from the University of Ulster. The 30-year-old Ireland and British and Irish Lions winger received the honorary degree of Doctor of Science (DSc) for his "outstanding contribution to sport". "It is certainly very different from what I am used to," he said.
