Warning Issued After Jewellery Stolen In Antrim Burglary
The PSNI have issued a warning to jewellers and antique dealers to be on the lookout for a stolen gold watch with the inscription: "Honorary Consul to North Africa".
Police made the call after thieves stole cash, expensive watches and antiques from a house in Glenavy.
A store nearby was also broken into and horse riding equipment was taken.
The burglary is believed to have happened between 1am and 8am on Tuesday, 02 January.
The stolen items include:
• Omega 28ct gold watch engraved 'Honorary Consul to North Africa'
• Omega 28 ct gold watch engraved with the initials 'JAMP'
• Gold handmade seal (for wax sealing letters), 13th Century, handmade engraved on a signet ring with initials 'MP' and includes a crest containing a dragon, lion & crown
• Lotus Gold Rimmed watch with brown leather strap
• Cartier Steel watch
• A selection of tie pins & cufflinks (silver, platinum & gold)
• Platinum Wedding Band (men's) engraved 'Joanne 06.07.01'
• Mont Blanc fountain pen engraved 'Alfonso June 1992'
• Parker Gold fountain pen
• Rayban aviator sunglasses
A saddle, stirrups and a double bridle were stolen from the adjacent store for horses.
Police Constable McElroy said: "If anyone has any information about this stolen jewellery and horse riding equipment please make contact with Police at Lisburn on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 250 02/01/18."

Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon has called on the Planning Appeals Commission to launch a Public Inquiry into the Dalradian Gold Mine projects. A Canadian firm has submitted a planning application to develop and operate a major gold mine in Co Tyrone. Dalradian aims to create hundreds of jobs if planning permission is approved. The development of the mine near Gortin would cost around £125 million. However, environmental campaigners have vowed to take legal action against the plans.
