Man Convicted Of Benefit Fraud
A man has been convicted for claiming benefits he was not entitled to at Antrim Magistrates' Court.
Christopher Dickinson laimed Job Seeker's Allowance totalling £7,708 while failing to declare employment. He was given a four month prison sentence suspended for three months.
He is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department for Communities.
Essential Maintenance Work To Start On Footbridge In South Belfast
Motorists in south Belfast are being warned to expect delays as essential repair work is being carried out on a footbridge.
The work on the A24 Saintfield Road will take place this weekend, 27 and 28 January.
To facilitate the work the city-bound lanes of the Saintfield Road at its junction with Cairnshill Road will be closed between 8pm on Saturday and 4pm on Sunday.
A diversionary route for city-bound traffic will be signed via Purdysburn Road and the A55 Outer Ring Road.
One country-bound lane will continue to operate for the duration of the repair work.
Alliance Raises Institutional Abuse Issue With Secretary Of State
Alliance has raised the issue of redress for victims and survivors of institutional abuse with the Secretary of State.
The party has also pledged to write to senior civil servants to explore the possibility of installing a memorial for the victims in the grounds of Stormont.
Speaking after a meeting with Karen Bradley, which followed a meeting with Alliance MLAs and the Survivors and Victims of Institutional Abuse (SAVIA) group, Alliance MLA Trevor Lunn said the recommendations of the Historical Institutional Abuse Inquiry should be implemented in full.
"We raised this matter with the Secretary of State, among other things, and were assured she realises the severity of the issue and will not let it fall by the wayside. The victims and survivors deserve justice now, they have waited long enough.
"The preference is for the issue of redress to be dealt with by local MLAs, however, the political impasse is having a devastating effect - survivors are dying without having seen the compensation they are entitled to. I believe it is certainly in the public interest to have no more delays."

Man Dies In Workplace Accident In Co Armagh
A man has died in a workplace accident in Co Armagh. It is believed the man was crushed by a road roller while a new road surface was being laid on the Bog Road, Forkhill, on Wednesday, 31 May. Police and the Health and Safety Executive have launched an investigation.

Woman Killed In Co Armagh Road Collision
A woman in her 30s has been killed in a road crash in Portadown, Co Armagh. The woman was hit by a car as she was walking on the side of the Moy Road at around 9.45pm on Tuesday. The road was closed for a short time but it has been reopened. Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
