Warning For Snow And Ice Issued In NI
A yellow weather warning for snow and ice has been issued across Northern Ireland.
The warning has been issued from 10pm on Thursday, 08 February, until noon on Friday, 09 February.
Heavy snow showers are expected following rain and sleet showers.
Public transport may be affected and motorists are being urged to take care.
A Met Office spokesperson said: "Rain, sleet and hill snow is expected to clear north western Scotland late on Thursday evening, and these clearer conditions will spread to all parts by early Friday morning.
"Ice is expected to form as skies clear. Heavy snow showers will follow, and these will be most frequent across Northern Ireland and western Scotland, where 2-5 cm may accumulate above 100 m with some snow to low levels too. Ice will be the main hazard across Northern England and Wales."

The Met Office reported that ice has formed on surfaces, with higher ground expected to see continued snowfall. A mixture of rain and sleet is expected across lower areas throughout the day.

Following a spell of rain, sleet and snow, temperatures are expected to fall quickly allowing ice to form on untreated surfaces.
