Former Sinn Féin MP Questioned Over Kingsmill Video

Former Sinn Féin MP Barry McElduff has been questioned by police over the controversial Kingsmill video he posted on social media.

In January, he uploaded a video to Twitter with a loaf of bread on his head on the 42nd anniversary of the Kingsmill massacre in which 10 Protestant men were killed.

Mr McElduff issued an apology and was suspended by his party. He later resigned.

On Thursday, 08 March, a PSNI spokesman said a 51-year-old man had been interviewed by police investigating a complaint about a video uploaded on social media.

A statement released by Mr McElduff's solicitor: "Mr McElduff reiterated to police that he in no way intended to cause offence or hurt to anyone. He did not realise that his social media post coincided with the Kingsmill anniversary, rather the post was spontaneous and not premeditated."
