Five Men Arrested Following Shooting Attack In Newry

Five people have been arrested after shots were fired at a house in Newry.

The attack happened in the Altmore Gardens area at around 9.20pm on Monday, 26 March.

A car pulled up outside the house and fired shots that caused damage to the front window.

No-one was injured in the shooting.

Five men have been arrested and two cars have been seized by the police.

Work Underway For Free Hospital Parking In Northern Ireland
Work has begun at several hospital sites across Northern Ireland as part of the preparations for the introduction of free car parking in May 2026. Man Charged In Possession Of Heroin
A man is to appear in court charged in possession of heroin. Police arrested five people during searches of a property in Newry on Wednesday, 16 January. Two men have also been charged in possession of a Class A drug. A 50-year-old woman has also been charged with permitting premises to be used for the supply of a Class A drug.

Shots Fired At Parked Car In L'Derry
Shots have been fired at a parked car in L'Derry. The incident occurred in Drumleck Gardens in the early hours of Thursday morning. No one is believed to have been injured. Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Five shots fired at house in south Belfast
A man has escaped injury after a number of shots were fired at his home in south Belfast on Thursday. A 30-year-old man was inside his Best Hill View home on the Purdysburn Road when five shots were fired through the living room window of the house at around 11pm.

'A' Level School Leavers Increase 5%
The number of pupils in Northern Ireland achieving two or more 'A' levels or equivalent increased by 4.9% during the five years to 2012/13, according to the Department of Education. The proportion of school leavers achieving two or more 'A' levels or equivalent was 55.1%, up from from 50.2% in 2008/09.
