Prisoner Unlawfully At Large Arrested In Antrim

A prisoner who was on remand and was unlawfully at large since November last year has been arrested in Co Antrim.

Charles Valliday, aged 46, escaped after being granted compassionate leave to attend a funeral.

He was found at an address in the Springfarm area on Monday, 30 April.

He has since returned to prison.

His brother, James Valliday, aged 52, was detained at an address in the north Belfast area in December last year and was brought back to Maghaberry.

Both men had been remanded on charges in connection with the murder of Christopher Mackin.
