Vespa World Days 2018 Launched
The Lord Mayor of Belfast, Nuala McAllister, has announced her backing of the launch of Vespa World Days 2018, which will come to Belfast's Titanic Slipways from 14-17 June.
A total of 3,000 Vespas are expected to descend on Belfast's Titanic Slipways as participants from over 37 countries worldwide gather to celebrate the event.
Vespa World Days 2018 is sure to have something for everyone with live music and entertainment, an artisan market and a delicious food village all provided as well as planned Ride outs throughout the weekend to the iconic Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, Crumlin Road Victorian Gaol and the historic coastal town of Carrickfergus to visit the over 800-year-old Norman Castle.
In addition, Vespa World Days 2018 will also support two local charities through this event; East Belfast Mission and Air Ambulance NI.
The Lord Mayor said: "I am delighted to launch Vespa World Days 2018 in Belfast and proud to welcome such an exciting global event to Belfast's iconic Titanic slipways.
"With such a fabulous array of events and celebrations planned throughout the weekend I would encourage everyone to get involved and join in on the fun," added Councillor McAllister.
Mark Cooke, Vespa World Days 2018 Director, said: "With only a month to go until the Vespas start to arrive at Titanic Slipways the excitement is really starting to build for what will be a fantastic family weekend
"We are extremely grateful to have the support of Belfast City Council, Visit Belfast and of course the Lord Mayor. We would now like to encourage the people of Belfast to get behind us too and come along to join in on everything Vespa World Days 2018 has to offer."
Belfast International Airport Road Closed
The main road to Belfast International Airport has been closed following a road traffic collision.
Tully Road at Nutts Corner has been closed in both directions following a collision earlier today, 03 May.
Anyone travelling to the Airport should approach from the Ballyrobin Road.
Man With A Gun Threatens Voters In Co Tyrone
A man with a gun has allegedly threatened voters at a polling station in County Tyrone.
It is understood that a man entered the polling station in Greencastle with a suspected handgun. Police have confirmed that they are investigating reports of the incident.

Heavy Snow Closes Over 80 Schools
Over 80 schools across Northern Ireland have been closed as the heavy snow continues to cause disruption on Tuesday morning. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning, as the snow is continuing to affect many roads. Areas which have been majorly disrupted include Lisburn, Castlereagh and Carryduff.
