Future Workforce Workshop To Focus On Engineering Skills
Belfast Metropolitan College's Engineering Team have announced a Future Workforce, with a focus on engineering skills, in partnership with Invest Northern Ireland.
With Northern Ireland now at full employment and with unemployment at a record low, shortages of labour and skills is becoming an increasingly limiting factor in terms of growth for employers across a range of engineering sectors especially electrical, electronics, mechanical and ICT.
Over the next few years Northern Ireland businesses will experience increased competition for skilled workers across all sectors of the economy both locally, nationally and internationally. Employers need to act now and consider how you will ensure your business is adequately resourced and consider where your skilled workforce will come from both now and in the future.
This free half day workshop will be facilitated by Iain Jawad, Director of Strategic Partnerships at Frost and Sullivan and you will hear about the emerging trends, discuss challenges and identify what skills will be required for your business now and in the future. Attendees will be provided with the latest theories, techniques and tools to scope skills needs and how to meet these.
You will also have the opportunity to influence and design bespoke training courses to help meet your business needs for apprenticeships, Higher Level Apprenticeships and the upskilling of your workforce.
The event will take place on Monday 04 June at Belfast Mets Springvale Campus, and is free to attend.
