NIFRS Tackle Wild Fires Set On Lagmore Glen

Fire crews were dispatched on Tuesday night to deal with wildfires in the Lagmore Glen area of west Belfast.

The latest incidents come after the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) issued a warning about the dangers of wildfires.

Fire crews responded to reports of fires on Lagmore Glen and spent a number of hours battling the fires.

Appealing to parents to warn their children of the dangers of setting fires, local councillor, Daniel Baker, said: "The Fire Brigade has had to deal with more fires in the Lagmore Glen (Tuesday) evening.

"Someone is going to get seriously hurt and if it wasn't for the quick response from the Fire Brigade the fire would have spread.

"We all seen the fire on the mountain last night and this can't keep happening in Lagmore."
