Suspicious Device Discovered In Seaford 'Viable'

A suspicious object discovered in Seaford was a "viable device", according to police.

The device was discovered at a house in Naghan Court at about 3pm on Monday, 11 June.

Police launched a security operation and Army bomb disposal experts were called in to examine the device.

A number of residents were evacuated from their homes during the operation, which is understood to have lasted around an hour.

The device was declared viable and removed by the Army for further examination.

Police have issued an appeal for information.

Sinn Féin MLA Emma Rogan said: "This security alert caused significant disruption to local residents.

"Those responsible have shown complete disregard for all the people of this community.

"Incidents like this serve no purpose other than bringing disruption to the community and they need to stop immediately."

Viable Pipe Bomb Found During West Belfast Security Alert
A viable pipe bomb has been discovered during a security alert in west Belfast. Residents had to be evacuated from their homes in the Horn Drive area after a suspicious object was found on Monday, 25 September. Police and army bomb disposal experts attended the scene. The alert has now ended and the device has been removed for forensic examination.

Foyle Bridge alert continues for second day
The Foyle Bridge in Londonderry remains inaccessible for a second day following a bomb warning on Wednesday. The security forces are examining what they believe is a bomb on the Londonderry to Belfast railway line running beneath the bridge. Sources say army technical officers are moving cautiously as the device may be unstable.

Viable Device Discovered In L'Derry Security Alert
Police have discovered a viable device during a security alert in L'Derry. Army bomb disposal were alerted to the Tamneymore Park area at around 2am on Friday, 31 March, following reports of a suspicious object. The device has been taken away for forensic examination. The alert is ongoing however no roads have been closed.

Viable Explosive Type Device Discovered During Security Alert
A 'viable explosive type device' has been discovered during a security alert in north Belfast. The alert in the Linden Gardens area is ongoing and residents remain out of their homes. SDLP north Belfast Councillor Nichola Mallon said it was a reckless attempt to kill that could have had devastating consequences.

Security Alert In Glengormley Ends
A security alert in Glengormley has now ended. A suspicious object was discovered, however police said it has been declared a 'hoax'. Inspector Cullen said: "Police received a report on Thursday, 5th September shortly after 11.15pm that a suspicious device had been left in the area.
