Call For Paramilitary Flags In Co Down To Be Removed Immediately
Sinn Féin has called for paramilitary flags in Banbridge, Co Down, to be removed immediately.
Councillor Kevin Savage made the call following the erection of UVF and YCV flags in the town centre over the weekend.
He said: "At a time when business owners along with the local council are working tirelessly to bring investment into our town centre this is unacceptable.
"These actions are in stark contrast to the efforts of others to promote our town centre across the ABC area as well as cross border to draw in much-needed trade from the South.
"There is no place for paramilitary flags in society."
