£9m Paid To MLA Wages Since Stormont Collapse
Northern Ireland taxpayers have paid over £9 million towards MLA wages despite Stormont collapsing 18 months ago.
The figure was revealed at the Northern Ireland Affairs Committee on Wednesday, 04 July.
Secretary of State Karen Bradley was being questioned about the issue.
She said she was aware that there was public anger but mindful that MLAs still work for their constituents.
The £9m figure does not include MLAs pensions or expenses.

Northern Ireland beach litter figure drops
Northern Ireland has seen a decrease in the amount of litter on its beaches, despite a rise in the UK annual figure. The results were revealed in the UK’s biggest annual beach clean and litter survey, carried out in September 2003 by the Marine Conservation Society (MCS).
