Investigation Launched After Burglary At LGBT Charity Offices

An investigation has launched following a burglary at an LGBT charity's offices in Belfast.

A number of laptops were stolen and the office of The Rainbow Project was smashed in Waring Street.

It is believed the burglary happened sometime between 6.45pm on Tuesday, 17 July, and 7.45am on Wednesday, 18 July.

Several windows were also damaged.

Sinn Fein Newry & Armagh MP Mickey Brady said: "I am deeply disappointed to learn that offices belonging to the Rainbow Project were burgled just over a week before the start of Belfast Pride.

"The Rainbow Project provide an invaluable service to many in the community and will continue to do so.

"Those engaged in these criminal attacks on people’s property need to face the full rigours of the law.

"I would appeal to anyone with information about this burglary to contact the PSNI."
