Council Approves Plans To Open Recycling Centres On Bank Holidays
Ards and North Down Council has approved plans to open its recycling centres on bank holidays.
The decision will see four of the Council's facilities, including at Balloo and Holywood, open on a number of holidays throughout the year.
Alliance Councillor Scott Wilson welcomed the decision.
He said: "I have been calling on Council to make this change for quite some time and am happy residents will soon be able to benefit by using these council facilities on the days in question.
"Bank Holidays are when many people like to do DIY or gardening, and there is a high demand for recycling and waste disposal. For the centres to be closed on these days just didn't make any sense.
"I look forward to these changes being put into practice and specific details should be made available to the public soon."
