Teenager Seriously Assaulted In Aggravated Burglary

Police have issued an appeal for information following an aggravated burglary in Carrickfergus, County Antrim.

A 19-year-old man was attacked with baseball bats and a hammer when a number of masked men forced their way into a house on Whinfield Walk at about 10pm on Sunday, 29 July.

The victim is continuing to be treated in hospital for what have been described as serious injuries.

Condemning the attack, Alliance East Antrim MLA Stewart Dickson said: "This was an appalling incident and must have been terrifying for the young man attacked.

"My thoughts are with him, especially as this assault appears to have been particularly brutal and vicious. I hope he makes a full recovery.

"There is no place in society for those who wish to take the law into their own hands and they must be brought to justice. I urge anyone with information to report it to police immediately."

Anyone with information about the assault is asked to contact police on 101.

According to police, the woman, aged in her 40s, was in bed at her home on Sunningdale Crescent, when five masked me, armed with hammers, forced their way into the house at around 10pm on Tuesday night.

Appeal For Information After 14-Year-Old Seriously Assaulted
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following the assault of a two teenagers in Randalstown, County Antrim. A 14-year-old boy is being treated in hospital for serious facial injuries he sustained when he was attacked by a number of men at Neillbrook Park at about 21:30 on Saturday 28 November.

NI Councillors Condemn Newtownabbey Hate Crime
Elected representatives from Northern Ireland have responded to the news of a hate crime in Newtownabbey, in which five men were attacked with baseball bats. The victims, who are all originally from Romania, were assaulted during an aggravated burglary of a house in Hollybank Drive at around 8.20pm on Sunday 06 January.

Man assaulted in Co Antrim
Police in Co Antrim are appealing for witnesses following an assault on a young man in Ballycastle in the early hours of Sunday morning. The victim was walking along the Moyle Road at around 1.30am when he was attacked by a teenager who lunged at him. A scuffle ensued before the victim was able to get away with just a minor scratch on his abdomen.
