Man Attacked In Sectarian Hate Crime In Newtownabbey
A man has been injured in what has been described as a sectarian hate crime in Newtownabbey.
The victim was slashed across the face and stomach with an unidentified sharp object in the Shore Road area at around 7.25am on Monday, 06 August.
He received treatment for his injuries however they are not believed to be life-threatening.
The attacker has been described as around 5ft 9inches tall, with a slim but muscular build and aged between 25-30 years old.
He was wearing a white/grey hooded top and was cleanly shaven.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Romanian Man Stabbed In Newtownabbey Hate Crime
One of the five men attacked by a gang at a house in Newtownabbey over the weekend suffered stab wounds and a broken shoulder, it has emerged. The four other men, all of whom are originally from Romania, suffered minor injuries in the attack at Hollybank Drive on the night of Sunday 06 January.

Woman Arrested In Newtownabbey Released On Bail
A 37-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office has been released on police bail. The woman was detained by officers from the Paramilitary Crime Taskforce in the Newtownabbey area on Thursday, 07 December. She was questioned at Antrim Police Station, however she has been released on bail.

Justice Minister Naomi Long is urging victims of online hate crimes to file a report to police to allow them to get the support they need. Ms Long encouraged members of the public to "call it out" and help police catch online perpetrators at an Online Hate Crime Event at Belfast City Hall.
