Two Serious Collisions On Portaferry Road Over The Weekend
An investigation has been launched following two serious collisions near Newtownards over the weekend.
Just before 3pm on Sunday, 02 September, a motorcycle and bus were involved in a collision on the Portaferry Road.
The are no reports on the condition or treatment of any of those involved in the crash.
The scene remains closed and diversions are in place at Finlay's Road and Cunningburn Road.
Separately, a car and van were involved in a collision on the same stretch of road on Saturday, 02 September.
It is understood that moments after the crash, the car burst into flames and another motorist who had stopped at the scene, pulled the driver of the burning car from the vehicle.
Two people are continuing to be treated in hospital.
Anyone who may have witnessed either of the collisions is asked to contact police.

Man Dies In Co Antrim Road Crash
A man has died in a collision in Co Antrim. The crash happened on the Tornagrough Road in Hannahstown just before 8am on Wednesday, 27 September. Police are working to establish the circumstances of the collision and identify all of the vehicles involved. The PSNI are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
