SDLP Calls On DUP 'In Strongest Possible Terms' To Remove Ian Paisley
The SDLP has said that it is "disappointed" that the 10% of signatures needed to trigger a by-election in North Antrim fell marginally short.
The Party's Chief Whip, Colin McGrath, stated "in the strongest possible terms" that the DUP must now end the pretence of an internal investigation and act upon the findings of the official investigation and remove Ian Paisley Jr from the party.
Mr McGrath said: "Arlene Foster and the DUP leadership now have a duty to the public to act upon the official investigation that found Ian Paisley Jr had accepted lavish gifts from the Sri Lankan Government, which he failed to declare and in turn lobbied on their behalf.
"Given the heat around the ongoing RHI investigation, it is imperative Mrs Foster help restore public confidence in politics by acting swiftly to remove Mr Paisley from the party.
"The SDLP have been on record a number of times stating that the conduct of political representatives must always be above reproach, and anything short of that is simply unacceptable."

Man Dies After Bus Fall In Belfast
Detectives are investigating the death of an 80-year-old man who fell from a bus in Belfast. Police have said that they believe the man was travelling on a 2J Translink Metro bus service at around 11:15am on Friday, 08 November, when he suffered a fall as the bus travelled along Royal Avenue, near it's junction with North Street.

Pedestrian Dies Following Road Traffic Collision Ikn West Belfast
A female pedestrian in her 70s has tragically died following a road traffic collision in west Belfast on Saturday, 9th November. The incident occurred on Hannahstown Hill shortly after 6:50pm when two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle. Emergency services attended the scene, and the injured pedestrians were taken to hospital.
