Three Arrested For 'Violent' County Down Kidnapping
Three men have been arrested following a violent kidnapping in Gilford, County Down.
Police said a gang of men forced their way into a property in Gilford before seriously assaulting and dragging a man outside. The victim was bundled into a BMW car "where further violence was inflicted".
The victim's injuries include losing teeth.
Following a call from the public on Saturday afternoon, police stopped a car and later arrested three men on suspicion of kidnapping, false imprisonment, burglary, grievous bodily harm with intent and threats to kill.
"We believe several people witnessed this incident, and we are of course aware of the concerns around it," said police in their appeal.
"It comes down to this though: knowing what happened and proving what happened are different things. The latter requires witnesses to come forward.
"If these people aren't stopped, then there could be a 'next time'."
Anyone with information can contact police on 101.
