Warnings After Handbags Snatched At Belfast Supermarkets
Police have warned Belfast supermarket shoppers to be on alert following a spate of recent thefts.
Three handbags were snatched in supermarkets across Belfast on Saturday 10 November, following a number of similar incidents last week.
Police have said they believe the latest three incidents may be connected and warned shoppers to keep their handbags close.
Several victims have claimed that a child, accompanied by one or two adults, was involved in the thefts.
PSNI Sergeant Michael Bethel said: "I would urge anyone out shopping to keep their belongings secure, and never leave them unattended.
"Our enquiries into these incidents are continuing."
Plans On Hold For £30m Portrush Hotel And Spa
Developers have stalled a planning application for a £30m hotel project overlooking Royal Portrush Golf Club as a result of "community feedback".
The Dunluce Resort and Spa was a 115-bedroom hotel and apartment project funded by ARC, a company based in Texas.
A new set of plans will be revealed next year, after North Coast Ventures Limited said the initial plans were "not appropriate".
Gavin Boyd, director of North Coast Ventures Limited said: "We have listened to the local community and the feedback we have received during the consultation process.
"We still firmly believe that the north coast is an area which needs higher quality accommodation and a greater number of hotel rooms."
The original planning application submitted to Causeway Coast and Glens Council was met with numerous objections, many related to the visual impact of a new hotel complex.
Cushendall Celebrate Record 11th Ulster Hurling Title
Cushendall have secured their place at the top of Ulster's hurling world after claiming a record 11th title win over Ballycran.
The Antrim side defeated the Down champions 1-15 to 0-10 on Sunday 11 November and are now the most successful club in history.
The team got ahead in the first half at the Athletic Grounds in Armagh, with a goal from Sean McAfee giving them an eight-point lead at the break.
Ballycran managed to cut the deficit to five in the second half, but their hopes of a comeback were not met.
Despite losing a player as Aaron Graffin suffered a serious knee injury, Cushendall made it over the line to secure the victory, as well as their first Ulster title in three years.

Graduate Entry Medical Students To Benefit From Tuition Fee Loans
Economy Minister Conor Murphy has announced that from the 2025/26 academic year, students enrolled in the Graduate Entry Medical School at Ulster University's Derry-Londonderry campus will be eligible for tuition fee loans. Previously, graduate entry medical students were unable to access government loans to cover tuition fees.

The Northern Ireland Enterprise Minister Sir Reg Empey officially opened the recently completed Bayview Hotel in Portballintrae. Part of the Hotels and Leisure Division of the Kennedy Group of companies, the Bayview Hotel run by North Coast Hotels, cost £2.5 million and has created the equivalent of around 40 full-time jobs.
