PM To Meet NI Business Leaders At Downing Street
Business leaders from Northern Ireland are set to meet Prime Minister Theresa May in Downing Street later today, Thursday 22 November.
Around 40 representatives of several major employers will travel to England to discuss the draft EU withdrawal agreement, in a move seen as a show of support for the deal.
Some of the delegation will also meet with Labour MP's.
The visit comes as the void between the DUP's Brexit position, and that of NI business leaders continued to widen this week.
It also follows the announcement of almost 500 job losses at Bombardier.
Business groups like the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) back the withdrawal agreement, as it avoids a no-deal Brexit.
The Ulster Farmer's Union has also spoken out in support of Mrs May's deal, and gone further in calling on the Democratic Unionists to back the deal.
Despite this, DUP MP Sammy Wilson has said businesses are being used as "puppets" by the Northern Ireland Office.
