Money Stolen From Christmas Market Stall Working To Help Homeless
A company that sells clothing items to help the homeless has had its stall robbed at the Belfast Christmas Market.
A "substantial amount of money" was forcibly taken from a member of OutsideIn staff at the market on Thursday 29 November at around 4.30pm.
The company's founder, David Johnson, expressed his sadness at the robbery on social media, and said the money was kept in a bright orange waist bag before it was stolen.
Two men approached the staff member, one described as tall with hand tattoos and was wearing a black coat and dark jeans.
"Fortunately our staff were not physically harmed but are still shaken up. If anyone has more information please do send it forward," Mr Johnson said.
OutsideIn operates using a 'wear one, share one' policy, which means that for every item of clothing or beanie sold, the company donates another to the homeless community in Belfast and throughout the UK.
Mr Johnson added: "We will not let this incident discourage or stop us from carrying out our vision to rewrite homelessness here and across the globe. We have been so encouraged by all of your support and will continue to run as usual."
The store remained open until 10pm on Thursday evening.
The PSNI have launched an investigation.

A building firm which carried out repair work for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE) has gone into administration. According to the Belfast Telegraph, Mel Davison Construction said increased financial pressures were to blame for the move. The Belfast and Portadown-based company currently employs around 150 staff.
