Third Man Charged Over Eddie Meenan Murder

A teenager has been charged with the murder of Edward Meenan in L'Derry.

19-year-old Ryan Walters is the third person to be accused of the father-of-four's murder, whose body was found in an alleyway in the Creggan Street area of the city on Sunday 25 November.

He suffered significant injuries to his head and body.

Two other men have been charged with the murder, and appeared at L'Derry Magistrates Court on Friday 30 November.

Sean Ciaran Joseph Rodgers, 31, from Little Diamond in the Bogside area of the city and Derek Cresswell, 26, of no fixed abode, both denied the charges against them during the emotional preliminary hearing.

All three accused have been remanded in custody until later this month.

Police have appealed for two men and a woman who were in the Creggan Street area at the time of the incident to come forward.
