Five Arrested Over Vicious Attacks In Belfast

Two Belfast men have been seriously injured in assaults at houses in north Belfast, prompting five arrests.

The attacks happened at Fairfax Court in the early hours of Thursday 13 December.

Detective Inspector Michael McDonnell said: "Shortly after 4.10am, it was reported that two males were assaulted. One man, aged 34, suffered head injuries after being struck with a wooden bat at a house in the area.

"Another male, aged 29, was also struck on the head with a wooden bat in another nearby property. Both males have been taken to hospital for their injuries and their conditions are described as serious."

A 65-year-old woman is believed to have sustained a broken wrist during the incident, and was also taken to hospital for treatment.

Two women aged 50 and 29 and three men aged 42, 24 and 22-years-old have been arrested in relation to the incident. All five are currently in police custody.

Five Arrested Following Fight At Limavady Wedding Reception
Five people have been arrested following a fight at a wedding reception in Limavady. Four males aged 24, 27, 37 and 39 and a 36-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences following the incident at a hotel shortly before 12.30am on Thursday, 13 September.

Two Men Arrested On Suspicion Of Kidnapping
Police have arrested two men on suspicion of kidnapping. The males, aged 33 and 31, were detained in Co L'Derry. It is believed there arrests are in connection with an incident in the city on Thursday, 26 October. No further details have been released.

Police Appeal After Passer-By Intervenes During Attack In North Belfast
Police are appealing for information after a passer-by intervened to stop a 16-year-old being attacked in north Belfast. Five males assaulted the boy in the Antrim Road area at around 6pm on Friday, 15 January. The boy was kicked and punched to the ground during the attack.
