Police Treat Attack On Lurgan Church As Hate Crime
A brick has been thrown through the front door of a church in Lurgan, breaking a pane of glass, while Remembrance Day crosses were also damaged.
Police have said they are treating the criminal damage at First Lurgan Presbyterian on High Street as a hate crime.
The incident happened sometime between midday on Tuesday 11 December and 1pm on Wednesday 12.
PSNI Chief Inspector Jon Burrows said: "I would appeal to anyone with any information, or any drivers who were passing First Lurgan Presbyterian Church and who may have captured footage on dashcam that may be of assistance to our investigation, to contact officers in Lurgan on 101.
"Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
Man Stabbed In West Belfast
A man has been stabbed in the shoulder during a violent altercation in the Whiterock Crescent area of west Belfast.
The victim, aged in his 20's sustained the injury shortly after 6.45pm on Wednesday 12 December.
He was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police said a 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
Anyone who was in the area around the time of the assault and saw what happened is asked to contact detectives on 101, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Omagh Town Centre In Line For £300k Regeneration
Omagh town centre is in line for regeneration work worth £300,000, it has been announced.
The Department for Communities has revealed it will contribute £238,270 to the package funded by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council and property owners to carry out improvements to Bridge Street and the entrance to the Strule Arts Centre.
The scheme will include shop front improvements, power washing and painting, signage, refurbishment and festive lighting.
Director of the Regional Development Office at the Department for Communities, Damian Mulholland, said: "This investment in Omagh town centre, totalling almost £300,000, will enhance the retail environment and improve connectivity with High Street, the Ulsterbus Depot and the Showgrounds Retail Park.
"It will regenerate a faded area within the town which includes dilapidated and run down properties as well as improving the entrance to the Strule Arts Centre."
