Firefighters Rescue 39 Bulls From Overturned Cattle Lorry
Firefighters have rescued 39 bulls from an overturned cattle lorry following an incident in County Fermanagh.
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) attended the scene on the Cavan Road, Newtownbutler after a one vehicle collision occurred shortly before 6.30am on Friday 11 January.
Representatives of the NIFRS Large Animal Rescue Team from Omagh Fire Station and Fire Crews from Lisnaskea and Enniskillen attended the incident which involved 42 bulls trapped in the overturned lorry.
A local Vet also attended the scene.
Firefighters stabilised the vehicle and used hydraulic cutting equipment to release 39 bulls assisted by farm workers. Three bulls died in the incident.
The driver of the lorry was treated by ambulance personnel at the scene.
The incident was dealt with by 9.49am and the bulls were contained in a nearby field when safely rescued.

Body Found In Missing Person Search
The search for a "high-risk missing person" in north Belfast has sadly ended with the discovery of a body. Volunteers from the Community Rescue Service (CRS) were deployed to the area on Tuesday morning, 28 May, to assist in the search for a person who had been missing from their home for some time.

Body Found In River Bann
Search and rescue teams on the North Coast have confirmed that a man's body has been discovered in the River Bann. Volunteers from the Community Rescue Service Northern District were tasked to assist in an incident near Coleraine on Thursday 31 October. The body of a man who had sadly passed away was later discovered.

NI's Chief Fire Officer Announces His Retirement
The Chief Fire Officer for Northern Ireland, Peter Craig, has announced that he is to retire after over 35 years of distinguished Service. Peter Craig is one of the longest serving officers in Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service and was appointed as Chief Fire Officer in February 2011, having been the acting Chief from July 2010.
