Alliance Encourage Participation In Childcare Survey

Alliance MLA Chris Little is urging members of the public to have their say in a major survey on childcare issues in Northern Ireland.

Employers for Childcare's cost survey for 2019 seeks the views on the provision of childcare in Northern Ireland, and the support available for both parents and providers. The results inform the organisation's campaigning for better support for childcare in Northern Ireland to ensure it meets the needs of all working in the sector.

"I would encourage as many parents as possible to get involved with this year's Northern Ireland Childcare Cost Survey," said Mr Lyttle.

"If you are a parent or childcare provider, this is one of the best ways to make your voice heard. Quality childcare is vital to the development of children. Therefore it is disappointing we continue to see some families struggle to access it or make quality childcare work for them.

"This survey and the results will inform Employers for Childcare's campaigning for better support, so this a fantastic opportunity to ensure the opportunities are there to give quality childcare provision which is accessible and affordable for all."
